Matlock Farm Park
A popular tourist attraction only a 15 minute drive away from the property. Enjoy a day meeting, feeding and petting a whole range of friendly native and non-native animals! With play areas for the children, such as our indoor Rainforest play centre the Enchanted Hamlet and UK's largest jumping pillow, there's always plenty to do. You can pre book tickets online.

Gullivers Kingdom
A 10 minute drive away is the popular attraction of Gulliver's Kingdom, great for children aged between 2 - 13 years, you can easily spend a full day exploring the site and enjoying the numerous rides available. Set on the hillside of Matlock Bath the location itself boasts great views. You have various themed areas within the park, from Western World, Pirates Play Area, Lost World of Dinosaurs and a log flume.

Heights of Abraham
A couple of minutes away from Gulliver's Kingdom are The Heights or Abraham, a cable car ride taking you high above the valley letting you enjoy the stunning views. At the summit you can enter the 2 caves, Masson and Rutland Cavern, experience the day in the life of a 17th century miner from the guided tours available. There are also two play areas with slides, climbing walls, rope walks and a range of activities to keep you active all day.

Chatsworth House & Gardens
No visit to the Peak District would be complete without visiting the fabulous Chatsworth Estate. There really is something to do for every member of the family - The Farmyard and Adventure playground are a must for the children. The magnificent house opened for most months of the year offers an insight as to how life once was many years ago. The vast gardens are beautifully landscaped, featuring a maze, the stunning water cascade, where you can paddle in the hotter months plus the impressive Emperor’s fountain.

Peak Rail Steam Train
Take a ride on the old fashioned steam train which travels from Rowsley to Matlock. The train can be seen from the farmhouse.
The train offers afternoon tea services most Saturdays and host multiple special events throughout the year including a mixed traction gala and Santa Specials. This is an outing that is enjoyed by many.

Cycle the Monsal Trail
Hire bikes from Hassop in Bakewell and cycle along the the Monsal Trail. With year round bike hire from only £15 per bike, you can experience the unique Monsal Trail on quality cycles or electric bikes. The trail is nearly 8 miles to the end from the hire centre. If you travel at a brisk pace to the end and back with limited stops to enjoy the view you can do it in under two hours. If you want to take your time, stop for photos or refreshments or to take a detour off the trail for example down in to Bakewell, you can fill a full day with this activity.

Haddon Hall
Over 900 years old, Haddon Hall is one of the country’s most elegant, historically important, and timeless stately homes. Home to Lord and Lady Edward Manners and open to the public at various periods throughout the year, it is a magnificent example of a fortified manor house, enjoying fine Tudor and Elizabethan architecture, alongside beautiful Elizabethan walled gardens, which are renowned for their magnificent roses which cascade down the hall’s walls in the summer months. Haddon has a wonderful calendar of events throughout the season. During the festive season, it hosts its renowned Christmas Markets, which sees thousands of people visit the hall in the run-up to Christmas, with a line-up of over 200 talented artisans and makers displaying their wares in and around a beautifully decorated Haddon Hall.
