    Chatsworth stands as the residence of the Devonshire family since the 1550s. Over the centuries, it has transformed to a very popular tourist destination being a great day out for all!

    With more than 30 rooms awaiting exploration, ranging from the grand Painted Hall and the family-utilized chapel to the stately State Rooms and the exquisite Sculpture Gallery, Chatsworth House offers a rich tapestry of experiences. It is also home to the Devonshire Collections, a noteworthy art collection in Europe, spanning from Old Masters to contemporary ceramics, and featuring artifacts from Ancient Egypt to cutting-edge modern sculpture, constantly expanding over time.

    Chatsworth plays host to various special events annually, such as the Horse Trials, Country Fair, and Christmas market. For a quieter experience away from the crowds, explore the Riverside Gardens and Lovers Walks along Giddy Edge. Additionally, the nearby High Tor offers breathtaking views from its lofty summit.

    A popular tourist destination nestled alongside the scenic banks of the river Wye, the largest town in the Peak District National Park boasts a collection of charming stone structures, a medieval five-arched stone bridge, and picturesque courtyards.

    According to local lore, the renowned Bakewell Pudding was accidentally concocted by a town cook in the mid-19th century. Nowadays, this delightful 'jam tart gone awry' can be savoured in numerous bakeries and cafes.

    Every Monday explore one of Britain's premier Farmers' Markets to handpick exceptional local produce or peruse specialty stores offering a diverse range of items, from high-end fashion and outdoor gear to handmade chocolates and rare whiskies. Indulge in a light snack, lunch, or dinner at the various cafes, restaurants, pubs, and tea rooms, and delve into the world of craft beers with a brewery tour and tasting at Thornbridge Brewery.

    Immerse yourself in the vibrant hues of Bakewell Carnival Week and Well Dressing in July or attend the Bakewell Show, one of the nation's oldest agricultural events, in August.
